For 25 years, the Syracuse University Technology Commercialization Law Program (TCLP) has offered a unique, interdisciplinary experiential learning program for students interested in the commercial development of new technologies. ICIP stands for Innovation, Commercialization and Intellectual Property. - a research services and consulting company that delivers efficient, timely and cost-effective analysis to help our clients make winning decisions on commercialization strategy for early stage technologies.
Students and non-members are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Prof. Jack Rudnick of Syracuse University College of Law & ICIP Consulting, LLC
Biography:
JACK RUDNICK
Principal, Client Relations
Jack is an experienced corporate and intellectual property attorney who has been providing legal counsel for 40 years. He has extensive experience in commercializing new technologies and advising emerging technology companies. His interests are IP strategy development to maximize protection and return on investment, developing corporate governance best practices at public and private companies, and managing technology commercialization programs and ventures.
Jack worked with Welch Allyn, a multi-national high-tech company to spin-off two multi- million dollar divisions and sell the spin-offs to two multi-billion dollar public companies. He also founded Blue Highway, a high-tech spin-off, to further develop break-through technologies and was instrumental in licensing, selling and further developing said technologies. He is currently of counsel with Barclay Damon, LLP’s Emerging Technology Team, where he provides business and legal consultation to technology-based companies. Jack is currently a Professor of Practice with the Technology Commercialization Law Program at Syracuse Law.
Jack received his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and his undergraduate degree from Middlebury College.
Rudnick co-founded Blue Highway, Inc. while at Welch Allyn, Inc. to locate and accelerate the development of technologies with medical applications. He continued with Blue Highway after it was transferred to Syracuse University in the role of Senior Vice President, Legal and Government Affairs. He is currently of counsel with Hiscock & Barclay, LLP’s Emerging Technology Team, where he provides business and legal consultation to technology-based companies. Prior to his appointment as Director of the Technology Commercialization Law Program, Rudnick contributed to the program as an adjunct professor, assisting Founding Director Ted Hagelin in the Commercialization Research Center from 2011 until 2013. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, and the Association of Corporate Counsel (past president of Central and Western New York chapter). Rudnick has also served as the company representative to the Business Council of New York and is on the boards of a number of charitable and arts organizations.
CHRIS HORACEK
Principal, Intellectual Property & Regulatory Strategy
Chris is an attorney with over 30 years experience. More than 16 years of that experience was acquired in the role of general corporate counsel, advising company senior management on matters of corporate governance, ethics and compliance, and IP strategies based on evolving legal and business environment. His areas of expertise include business transactions, intellectual property identification and protection, compliance, and mergers and acquisitions.
Chris most recently served as VP Deputy General Counsel for Welch Allyn, Inc, a Skaneateles, NY-based medical device company. He provided corporate legal services in various areas of the company as well as managing corporate training functions for compliance related matters. Chris has extensive experience in structuring and negotiation of licenses of intellectual property, licenses of software, product development arrangements, distribution channel agreements, and procurement agreements; development and management of processes to document inventions, protect inventions by means of patent, trade secret, and copyright regimes, and leverage intellectual property rights to maximize benefits to the business as well as development and management of programs and procedures to achieve sustainable compliance with various federal regulations, including those governing medical devices, international trade (import and export), sales of products to the federal government, data privacy and security, and advertising.
Chris received his J.D. with distinction from University of Nebraska, College of Law and his undergraduate degree from University of Nebraska Medical Center.

LAILA KOBROSSY AUDI & DOMINICK DANNA of ICIP Consulting, LLC
Biography:
LAILA KOBROSSY AUDI, PHD
Principal, Research & Operations
Laila is a biochemist with a cross-disciplinary background in science and entrepreneurship, and expertise in technology commercialization, go-to-market strategy and applied research. She received her PhD in Biochemistry from McGill University, and her post-doctoral training from Harvard University and Syracuse University. Laila’s areas of expertise include healthcare technology, patient-centered software, biochemistry, epigenetics, molecular and cellular biology, intellectual property landscapes, and competitive landscapes.
Laila’s experience in technology commercialization began with the Technology Commercialization Law Program at Syracuse University, followed by her role as the technology commercialization manager at Blue Highway Inc., a medical technology accelerator, and director of commercialization strategy and research at 3Pound Health, a patient-centered software start-up.
DOMINICK DANNA
Research Consultant
Dominick is an electrical engineer with over 35 years of experience in the research and development of new technologies at the medical device company, Welch Allyn, Inc. He has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Syracuse University.
Most of his new product design focused on medical imaging and video devices. Dominick retired from Welch Allyn in 2007 after spending four years as the director of applied clinical research. He has been awarded 36 patents was the recipient of the Design News Special Achievement Award in 1993 and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Holley Medal in 1994.
