Tech Pulse Session 1 : Emerging Trends in Cybersecurity
Tech Pulse is a series of technical sessions for female undergraduates interested in tech careers, to gain knowledge, network with peers, and build a strong foundation for their future.
The first session of the series, on "Emerging Trends in Cybersecurity", is an interactive session designed for students to explore the exciting and fast-growing world of cybersecurity. During this session, participants will get the opportunity to dive into the latest technologies, threats and solutions shaping the digital landscape, from ethical hacking and AI in security to cloud protection and cyber laws. They can also learn about new career paths, industry demands, and how they can build a future in this critical field. For anyone who is curious about cyber defense, wants to stay updated, or is considering a career in cybersecurity, this is the perfect space to ask questions, share ideas, and get inspired.

Windhya of IEEE Women in Engineering
Emerging Trends in Cybersecurity
Biography:
Dr. Windhya Rankothge is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Canadian Institute for Cyber Security (CIC), University of New Brunswick, Canada. She is leading the research collaboration between ADGA Groups and CIC. Dr. Windhya received her PhD in Information Technology and Communication in year 2017 from University of Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. Her research interests are Cybersecurity Risk Management, Cybersecurity Standards and Frameworks, Cloud Security and Software Defined Networks.
Dr. Windhya has published her research work in numerous journals and conferences, and she is an IEEE Senior member. Also, she has served for different international research communities as a reviewer, advisor and an executive committee member. Currently she serves as a voting member (member-at-large) for IEEE WIE Global Committee, chair for IEEE WIE Special Days Subcommittee and vice-chair for IEEE New Brunswick section.
