Prof. Aboutanios is a full-time Professor in Signal Processing at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney. His research focuses on signal detection and parameter estimation with applications in radar, positioning, navigation, and power systems. He has made significant contributions to radar target detection in heterogeneous environments and high-resolution direction-of-arrival estimation. He is currently an Associate Editor for IEEE journals and serves as Vice-Chair of the IEEE Signal Processing Theory and Methods Technical Committee.
