Revolutionizing Robotics Through Systems Engineering
This presentation introduces the integration of systems engineering principles into the field of surgical robotics, aiming to excel in this competitive market. It explores the potential benefits and challenges of applying these methodologies at various phases of product development lifecycles, highlighting the importance of balancing complex interactions between components, stakeholders, and processes to maximize system performance, safety, and reliability. Additionally, in an era where medical devices are increasingly interconnected and reliant on digital technologies, ensuring cybersecurity and privacy has become paramount. This talk will introduce cybersecurity and privacy, best practiced in medical devices, including insights into the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulatory. We’ll also share the recent pilot projects by applying AI on device and content development. By attending this presentation, attendees can learn the fundamental practices in complex system design and can better navigate the complexities of developing secure and commercially useful medical devices.
