The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) – Hashemite University Chapter is pleased to announce the ROS Training Course, part of Robotics Camp 2025. This course will provide participants with fundamental knowledge of the Robot Operating System (ROS) and its practical applications in robotics.

Course Outline:

  • Day 1: Introduction to ROS, its definition, installation, and running a basic program.

  • Day 2: Hands-on practice with ROS libraries and built-in examples.

  • Day 3: Building a ladder system using an ultrasonic sensor, servo motor, and ROS.

Biography:

Mohammad Shannak has been passionate about electronics and robotics since childhood, building his first radio station at 11. Now a robotics engineer with a master’s in Embedded Systems from the University of Freiburg, he has worked on robotic arms, automation, and self-driving technology. He also introduced robotic arms to videography in Jordan, helping create content for TV. As an active ROS user and mentor, he enjoys guiding students in bringing their ideas to life.

Biography:

Esraa Al-Hawajri is a Mechatronics Engineering graduate from the Hashemite University and a trainee at Kalatechs. She has worked on several technical projects utilizing ROS (Robot Operating System) and has a strong passion for robotics. In addition to her technical expertise, Esraa is an active volunteer in various community programs, always eager to share knowledge and contribute to learning initiatives. Her enthusiasm for robotics and continuous learning drives her to inspire others in the field.
