Prof. Dusit Niyato

Topic:

Toward Scalable Generative AI via Mixture of Experts in MobileEdge NetworksProf

Biography:

Dusit Niyato is a President's Chair Professor in the College of Computing & Data Science (CCDS) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research focuses on mobile generative AI, edge intelligence, quantum computing and networking, and incentive mechanism design. He currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering (TNSE) and holds editorial roles in IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology (TVT), IEEE Internet of Things Journal (IoTJ), and IEEE Communications Magazine.  

Dusit is a Members-at-Large of the Board of Governors of IEEE Communications Society (2024-2026) and has been recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher in Computer Science (2017-2024). He is a Fellow of IEEE and IET.

Dr. Cicek Cavdar

Topic:

6G for Connected Sky

Biography:

Cicek Cavdar is an Associate Professor at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, where she leads the Intelligent Network Systems research group. She serves as the vice-head of the Communication Systems Division and is the director of SMART 6GSAT, a newly established Swedish research center on satellite communications comprising 21 partners from the satellite and telecommunication industry along with research institutes.  

She has played a key role in multiple European projects, particularly in aerospace communications and sustainable network technologies. Since 2013, she has led several EU projects focused on sustainability and green communications, including 5GrEEn, SooGREEN, and AI4Green. AI4Green was recognized with the Eureka Innovations Award and the Celtic Excellence Award in 2024.  

In aerospace communications, she has coordinated industry-university collaborative projects since 2016, such as ICARO-EU and 6G-SKY: 6G for Connected Sky. Her research interests include the integration of non-terrestrial and terrestrial networks, edge and cloud computing, ultra-reliable low-latency wireless communications, sustainability, and AI-assisted green network management.
