IEEE Student Branch Presents: A Career Guidance Session by Dr. John Jose


The IEEE Student Branch of Netaji Subhash Engineering College, under the Computer Society and Computational Intelligence Society, is organizing a special session on 5th April 2025 aimed at fostering academic and professional growth among engineering students.

The highlight of the event will be a keynote address by Dr. John Jose, Associate Professor at IIT Guwahati and Distinguished IEEE Representative, on the topic “Plan your engineering education for a professionally rewarding career.” This insightful talk will guide students in aligning their academic pursuits with long-term career goals and evolving industry demands.

Biography:

Dr. John Jose is an accomplished academic and researcher currently serving as Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at IIT Guwahati. With a Ph.D. in Computer Architecture from IIT Madras, he has built an impressive career in education, research, and institutional development. He is the Head of the Center for Career Development at IIT Guwahati, overseeing placements, internships, and industry collaborations. Recognized with prestigious honors such as the Qualcomm Faculty Award (2021) and COMSYS Young Achiever Award (2024), Dr. Jose has significantly contributed to areas like multicore systems, IoT security, and AI/ML hardware accelerators. He has over 85 scholarly publications, served as Associate Editor for IEEE Embedded Systems Letters, and has collaborated with global universities. Known for his deep commitment to mentoring and outreach, he continues to inspire the next generation of engineers through research, teaching, and innovation.

Agenda

The event will begin at 12:00 PM with a welcome address, followed by opening remarks from the Principal of NSEC. A brief introduction of the guest speaker will precede the keynote address by Dr. John Jose, Associate Professor at IIT Guwahati, on the topic “Plan your engineering education for a professionally rewarding career.” The keynote will be followed by an interactive Q&A session, a vote of thanks, and the presentation of a token of appreciation to the guest. The event will conclude with lunch for the guest, wrapping up by 2:00 PM.
