The department of CSE conducted a 25 Days Workshop on “Cyber Security” in association with IEEE RAS Student branch chapter-17901A from 7th January 2025. The Chief Guest Mr.B.Y.Amith Kumar,CEO,Savory Minds, New Delhi,Dr.S.Md.Farooq ,HoD of CSE Dept. Dr.M.V.Subramanyam, Principal of SREC,Mrs.V.Lakshmi Chaitanya Program Coordinator, Faculty,Staff.Mr.B.Y.Amith Kumar  acted as resource person .He was explained about Cyber Security. 

The Key concepts covered in this workshop are:

Understanding Cyber Threats: Discussion on common cyber threats such as phishing, malware, ransom ware, and social engineering attacks.

Data Protection and Privacy: Importance of securing personal and professional data, encryption techniques, and privacy settings.

Network Security: Basics of firewalls, VPNs, and secure Wi-Fi practices.

Cyber Hygiene Practices: Strong password management, multi-factor authentication, and software updates.

 Participants gained insight into the Cyber Security. The sessions included practical exercises such as phishing simulations, password strength testing, and a demonstration of ethical hacking techniques to understand vulnerabilities. Practical sessions helped participants apply these techniques to secure their data.
