The IEEE Student Branch National Level Hackathon – TKR HACK CONQUEST 1.0 was conducted from 11th to 12th March 2025 at TKR College of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad. Organized by the IEEE Student Branch of TKRCET, this unique 24-hour non-stop hackathon aimed to promote innovation, hands-on problem-solving, and collaborative learning among engineering students across India. The event began at 10:15 AM on 11th March with a grand inauguration featuring the ceremonial lamp lighting and a prayer song. Distinguished dignitaries present included Shri Teegala Krishna Reddy Garu (Chairman, TKRCET), Dr. Harinath Reddy Garu (Secretary), Shri Amarnath Reddy Garu (Treasurer), Dr. D.V. Ravishankar Garu (Principal), and Dr. A. Suresh Rao Garu (Dean of Academics), alongside Heads of various departments. The Chief Guest, Dr. K. Following the inauguration, Mrs. K. Naga Maha Lakshmi, IEEE Student Branch Faculty Counsellor and Assistant Professor, CSE, introduced the hackathon rules, problem statements, evaluation rubrics, submission process, and team expectations. A student speaker shared the vision and mission of the event—transforming ideas into impactful technological solutions. At noon, the hackathon was declared officially open through a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the R&D Block. A total of 42 teams from various institutions started developing projects in areas like HealthTech, EdTech, FinTech, Sustainability, IoT, and AI-based solutions.
After a lunch break, the first evaluation (Round 1) began at 3:00 PM. Judges Mrs. K. Naga Maha Lakshmi, Mrs. D. Kavitha, Mr. Shiva Krishna, and Mrs. Anantha Laxmi assessed teams based on clarity, structure, synergy, and technical approach. Round 2 was held at 6:00 PM, judged by Dr. A. Suresh Rao and Dr. Krishna (HOD, CSD), where 16 teams were eliminated based on technical progress and feasibility, leaving 26 to continue. Following a dinner break, Round 3 commenced at 1:00 AM, with judges evaluating bug fixes, integration, and performance improvements. The judging panel included Mrs. K. Naga Maha Lakshmi, Mr. Shiva Krishna, Mrs. D. Kavitha, and Mr. Mahesh (ECE). By morning, teams rested and had breakfast before Round 4 at 9:15 AM, judged by Dr. N. Sathyanarayana (HOD, IT), Dr. Muruganandam, Dr. Nageshwara Rao (Controller of Examinations), and Dr. Krishna. This round emphasized completeness, scalability, and deployment readiness.
Final project submissions were made by 10:00 AM on GitHub, including documentation, demo videos, and presentations. The final jury evaluation started at 2:00 PM, led by Professor OBV Ramanaiah Garu from JNTUH. Finalists showcased their projects, focusing on innovation, communication clarity, and practical application. The Valedictory Ceremony began at 4:00 PM, hosted by Mrs. K. Naga Maha Lakshmi, with guests Mr. Kotagiri Randeep Kumar (Think Mates, T-Hub) and Mr. Susrith (KC Overseas). A recap of the event and acknowledgment of volunteers, faculty, and judges was followed by prize distribution.
The Second Runner-Up team received an internship at T-Hub, awarded by Mr. Randeep Kumar. The First Runner-Up team received ₹10,000 from Mr. Susrith. The Champions were awarded ₹20,000 by the Principal and Dean. Distinguished guests including Prof. OBV Ramanaiah, Mr. Randeep Kumar, and Mr. Susrith were honored with mementos for their contributions and motivational presence. The event concluded with the National Anthem and a message of encouragement, emphasizing that the journey was about growth and learning, not just competition.
TKR HACK CONQUEST 1.0 marked a milestone in promoting technical excellence and interdisciplinary collaboration. With 42 participating teams, 12+ judges, and support from several departments and sponsors, the event was a grand success. The IEEE Student Branch, under the leadership of Mrs. K. Naga Maha Lakshmi, deserves special appreciation for executing this impactful initiative. The hackathon not only reflected TKRCET’s dedication to innovation but also set a new benchmark for future IEEE-led events.
