Dr Babasaheb R. Sankapal of VNIT

Topic:

Energy material

Energy materials are essential for harvesting, storing, and converting energy efficiently. They include materials used in solar cells, batteries, fuel cells, and thermoelectric devices.

Some key categories of energy materials:

  • Photovoltaic materials (e.g., perovskites, silicon) for solar energy conversion.

  • Battery materials (e.g., lithium-ion, solid-state electrolytes) for energy storage.

  • Thermoelectric materials (e.g., Half-Heusler alloys, MXenes) for waste heat recovery.

  • Piezoelectric materials for mechanical energy harvesting.
