6:00 PM – 8:30PM

Organized by the IEEE PES ENICarthage SBC  from Tunisia  πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ, Jordan πŸ‡―πŸ‡΄, Egypt πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡¬, Algeria(IEEE ZAGAZIG SB ) πŸ‡©πŸ‡Ώ(IEEE USTO SB), Palestine (IEEE PPU PES SBC), and Sudan, this enriching webinar provided valuable insights into the evolving landscape of smart grids, highlighting their expansion from distribution-level intelligence to advanced smart transmission solutions. We explored key technologies such as HVDC and FACTS, AC to DC line conversions, Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) advancements, and the integration of renewables within transmission systems. Real-world implementation trends from Asia, Europe, and North America added a global perspective to the discussion. We extend our sincere thanks to the speaker for their enlightening presentation and to all the participants and organizing chapters whose collaboration made this event a great success.

8:30 PM – 11:30 PM

In a remarkable collaboration between IEEE PES ENICarthage, IEEE Egypt Section, IEEE USTO SB (Algeria), and IEEE Jordan Section, we had the pleasure of attending a dynamic and insightful webinar as part of IEEE PES Day celebrations. This event brought together a diverse lineup of speakers including Eng. Mohamed Elalfy, Eng. Nesrine Selmi, and Eng. Yahya Aliane, offering participants a multifaceted learning experience. Kicking off at 8:30 PM, the session featured a warm welcome by the IEEE PES Day Ambassadors, followed by an inspiring opening speech by Dr. Ahmed Madian from the IEEE Egypt Section. We then heard from Dr. Ibrahim Helal representing the IEEE PES Chapter Egypt, and Dr. Rania Swief who shed light on the energy transition. Eng. Ibtihel Trabelsi discussed the potential of green hydrogen, while Eng. Ranim Damak highlighted the benefits of IEEE PES membership. Eng. Mohamed Iyadh Chéhine Zouari shared insights on clean energy and smarter grids, followed by Eng. Mohamed Saif’s practical guide to building a high-performing Student Branch Chapter. Finally, Eng. Mohamed Amine Ben Helal addressed the promising intersection of smart grids and renewable energy prediction. We sincerely thank all the speakers and organizing teams for making this collaborative effort such an inspiring and successful event.
