Biography:

Carol Benitez is GbD’s Vice President of Operations who graduated Cum Laude from the New Jersey Institute of Technology Honors College with a degree in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Environmental Studies and Sustainability. Mrs. Benitez is responsible for managing the company’s staff and projects involving Renewable Energy, microgrids, distributed generation related services and other services for public and private clients promoting clean energy, environmental restoration, and smart growth. She regularly oversees staff and interns, organizes events, and manages project and executive scheduling on a day-to-day basis, requiring regular interaction directly with C-level executives as well as all levels of public and elected officials.. Mrs. Mendez also has strong mathematical, science and engineering knowledge allowing her to analyze, interpret and easily assimilate data for her clients and project stakeholders. She understands the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context. In a world that is constantly changing, she knows the importance of lifelong learning and integrating multi-disciplinary solutions to find the best solution for her clients.

Seema Roy HSE Manager, EthosEnergy | NJIT Alumna (MS, Chemical Engineering) Seema Roy is an accomplished Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) professional with over 20 years of experience in the power generation, refining, chemical, and environmental services industries. As the current HSE Manager at EthosEnergy, she leads compliance programs and sustainability initiatives, ensuring regulatory excellence and workplace safety. Seema holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from NJIT and has held key roles at Phillips 66, PAI Environment, and TRC Companies. Passionate about mentorship and empowering women in STEM, she brings a wealth of technical expertise and leadership to the panel.

Biography:

Lisa began her education at NJIT with a keen interest in exploring the field of engineering. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Power Systems. Following her graduation, Lisa joined Burns and McDonnell and an Assistant Electrical Engineer. Over the years, she advanced her role to Staff Engineer and was later promoted to Project Manager. In this role she is responsible for overseeing projects from inception to completion, fostering team development, managing communication across teams, and ensuring adherence to timelines and financial planning.
