"George will step through the sequence of events for an actual event on the TVA system in which a tree contacted a high voltage transmission line, the engineering analysis of the event, and the conclusions drawn."

 

George Pitts PE, TVA

George is presently senior program manager interconnection planning with TVA, working with renewable energy projects from beginning to commercial operation.

He has over 30 years of electrical engineering experience spanning oil & gas pipelines, pulp & paper mills, and electric utilities.

George has been a project, controls, maintenance, protection, planning, and commissioning engineer in his many roles throughout his career.

He earned the BSEE degree from Mississippi State University and is a Senior Member of IEEE.
