Dr. Sreelal S. Pillai is a senior ISRO scientist and an eminent figure in the domain of low-power system design and integrated electronics. With over 50 publications, multiple patents, and international research experience, he has been instrumental in developing technologies for India’s space missions. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, a Fellow of IETE, and part of the Distinguished Lecture Panel of IEEE India Council.

Low Power Smart Electronics for IoT and Similar Applications

An expert session on energy-efficient electronic systems tailored for Internet of Things (IoT) and similar applications. The session covers low power design strategies, cutting-edge sensor technologies, and real-world ISRO-based implementations, guided by one of India’s most respected experts in aerospace electronics.

Biography:

Dr. Sreelal Sreedharan Pillai is a Senior Scientist (Sci/Engr-G) and Divisional Head at the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), currently leading the Atmospheric and Space Science Avionics and Checkout Division at VSSC, Trivandrum. He holds a B.Tech in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation (Kerala University), an M.Tech from IIT Chennai, and a Ph.D. in Microelectronics from the National University of Singapore. Dr. Pillai has over 30 years of experience in aerospace electronics, telemetry systems, and advanced microelectronic designs for launch vehicles.

A Senior Member of IEEE and Fellow of IETE, Dr. Pillai is a distinguished contributor to IEEE's technical societies, having served as Chair of the IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (AESS) and the Circuits and Systems Society (CASS), Kerala chapter. He has published more than 65 papers, holds multiple patents, and is an active reviewer and committee member for international journals and conferences.

His work bridges academia, research, and industry, inspiring innovation across next-generation electronics and avionics in India’s space missions.
