A Non-Invasive Cable Energization Status Detector
Three-phase single-core trefoil formation underground cables are widely used in transmission and distribution power systems. For safety purposes, the energization status of the cables needs to be clarified before maintenance is done. This talk introduces a renovated method to differentiate dead cables from live ones. The existing methods of cable energization status detection are reviewed. A new non-invasive detection method is proposed and validated with FEM simulation and lab test.
