On 29 March 2025, the IEEE Bangalore Section through the IEEE Student Branch at Amrita
School of Engineering, Bengaluru successfully inaugurated the IEEE Vehicular Technology
Society (VTS) Student Branch Chapter. The event also featured technical talks on “Vehicular
Technology” by esteemed industry professionals from Bosch, Continental, and HARMAN
International. The session attracted a diverse audience of students, faculty, and industry
professionals and provided valuable insights into the evolving landscape of automotive
technology.
Introduction
The Inauguration of IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS) Student Branch Chapter (SBC)
of Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru took place at Krishna Hall, Amrita School of
Engineering, Bengaluru on 29/03/2025 from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm followed by lunch. It was
designed to both mark the inaugural milestone of the IEEE VTS Student Branch Chapter and
to stimulate discussion around cutting-edge topics in vehicular technology, particularly through
the featured technical sessions on different areas of automotive mobility. The event’s success
was built on the seamless integration of formal inaugurations, expert presentations, interactive
discussions, and networking sessions.
Speaker and Guest Contributions and Key Highlights
• Dr. Anish Cheriyan: (from HARMAN International, Guest, Chair, IEEE
VTS Bangalore Section)
➢ Provides the IEEE VTS mission and vision in the vehicular technology domain and
contributions by it.
➢ Highlighted the importance of networking, participating in the insightful events for
enhancing our skills and learning about newer technologies and aspects of professional
growth.
• Dr. Praveena Santosh Naik: (from Continental Automotive, “Building
Automotive for the Needs We Haven’t Met Yet”)

ensuring that the industry is prepared for future user needs.
