IEEE ComSoc presents Smart India Hackathon

This is to inform you that the 3rd Smart Bengal Hackathon (SBH) 2025, organized by the RCC Institute of Information Technology (RCCIIT), Kolkata, was a state-level competition held at Canal South Road, Beliaghata, Kolkata-700015, West Bengal, India.
Smart Bengal Hackathon 2025 Report
Overview
The IEEE ComSoc 3rd Smart Bengal Hackathon (SBH) 2025, hosted by RCC Institute of Information Technology (RCCIIT), Kolkata, was a state-level competition held on 30th April (SBH-Junior) and 2nd & 3rd May (SBH-Senior), 2025. Organized under the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), it aimed to foster innovation among Science & Engineering students (SBH-Senior) and School students (SBH-Junior) by addressing societal and industry challenges. Supported by the Dept. of IT & Electronics, Govt. of West Bengal and MeitY, Govt. of India.
Participation

Registered: Over 3,500 students in 830 teams from West Bengal and beyond.

Selected Teams: 83 (SBH-Junior), 80 (SBH-Senior).

Themes: 20 (AI, IoT, Machine Learning, Renewable Energy, etc.).

Problem Statements: 46 industry-oriented challenges.
Event Structure

SBH-Junior: School students (Class VIII–XII), teams of 3–4.

SBH-Senior: College/university students, teams up to 6 (min. 1 female).

Evaluated by industry experts in multiple rounds.

Winners (1st–3rd): Prize money, medals, certificates.

Distinction (4th–10th): Certificates.

Participation: Certificates for all teams.

Side Quest: Data Privacy Challenge (Entiovi Technologies) offered internships to 2 teams.
