IEEE Multi-Generation Networking Cocktail
IEEE Concordia and IEEE Young Professionals invite you to their Multi-generation Networking Cocktail event. Undergraduate and graduate students as well as industry representative will be present to celebrate IEEE's work. The purpose of this event is to foster collaboration between the generation of students, young professionals and post-doctoral fellows coming from different disiplinary of the industryial and academia fields. The event is co-organized by IEEE Young Professionals Montreal and IEEE Concorida and sponsored by IEEE Montreal Section, ECA Concordia and GSA Concordia.
This is an amazing opportuinity to connect with people from the vast IEEE network.

Jonathan Ginter
Jonathan is a serial entrepreneur who spent 25 years building commercial B2B software for Fortune 500 companies before striking out on his own. He has been responsible for determining strategy, managing releases, working with sales, support and marketing to organize events, visit customers on-site, and build communities. Jonathan has been a mentor and coach for entrepreneurs over the last 2 years.
His area of expertise are business idea validation and competitive analysis; pitch decks (how to present your idea); defining target markets and revenue models; software architecture; managing remote teams and freelancers.
Sergio A. Escobar
Shoukry I. Shams
Shoukry I. Shams received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electronics and communications engineering from Cairo University, Egypt, in 2004 and 2009, respectively. He received the PhD degree in electrical and computer engineering from Concordia University, Montréal, Canada in 2016. He received the Faculty Certificate of Honor in 1999, The Distinction with Honor in 2004 from Cairo University. He received the Concordia University Recruitment Award in 2012 and Concordia University Accelerator Award in 2016. He received the Electrical and Computer Engineering Doctor of Philosophy Convocation Award in 2017. This award is given annually, when merited, to the most deserving graduate from the Doctor of/Doctorate in Philosophy program in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
From 2005 to 2006, he worked as a teaching and research assistant in the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering, Cairo University. From 2006 to 2012, he joined the German University in Cairo as a teaching and research assistant. Afterwards, he was a teaching and research assistant with Concordia University from 2012 to 2016. Dr. Shams is currently working as a senior R&D engineer in Scientific Microwave Corporation (SMC). Meanwhile, he is nominated as an adjunct professor in ECE Department, Concordia University since June 2017. His research interests include microwave reciprocal/nonreciprocal design and analysis, high power microwave subsystems, antenna design and material measurement.
Sofiane Bounaffaa
Sofiane Bounaffaa graduated in 2012 from Telecom Lille (France) with a major in Telecommunication Networks Engineering. In 2014, he received his Master’s degree from l’École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS) in Telecommunication Networks under the supervision of Prof. François Gagnon, Professor of Electrical Engineering in ÉTS. His master project considered Ultra Electronics in collaboration with TCS, an industrial partner in state-of-the-art military radios. He worked in Ultra Electronics since he graduated. Mr. Bounaffaa is the CEO of SineFilum, a fast-growing startup that offers many wireless and RF engineering services which includes system design, radio propagation studies, drive/walk testing, interference identification and resolution, safety standard validation and R&D support.
