Calculator Techniques 2025 Webinar
The nature of the activity is an educational and skills-based webinar designed to equip engineering students with practical and advanced calculator techniques essential for efficiently solving mathematical and technical problems. This activity is particularly timely and relevant as it addresses the increasing need for engineering students to develop not only theoretical knowledge but also computational proficiency that enhances their academic performance and readiness for licensure examinations. The webinar, which will be conducted virtually via Zoom, is organized in partnership with the Excel Review Center, a respected institution known for its expertise in preparing future engineers for board exams.
The session will provide in-depth and guided instruction focusing on Engineering Mathematics and will feature selected problems aligned with the core subjects in Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering. Participants will receive comprehensive demonstrations on calculator functions, quick-solving methods, and time-saving shortcuts that are particularly useful when answering complex equations or circuit-related problems under time constraints. Beyond lectures, attendees will engage in interactive problem-solving segments and real-time practical exercises, allowing them to immediately apply what they’ve learned. To promote enthusiasm and active participation, the event will also include raffle draws where students will have the chance to win exciting prizes generously provided by our partner, including Canon Calculators Philippines. This combination of instruction, practice, and incentives aims to create an engaging and impactful learning experience for all attendees.

Biography:
Engr. Andreya Quilon Jannatul, ECT
Engr. Andreya Jannatul graduated Magna Cum Laude and held the prestigious title of Class Salutatorian at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University. Her commitment to peace earned them the Ateneo Peace Award in 2020, while her philosophical insights were recognized with the Ateneo Philosophy Award in the same year. In 2020, Engr. Jannatul was named Student Leader of the Year and participated in the esteemed Ayala Young Leaders Congress in 2019. In addition to her academic and leadership pursuits, Engr. Jannatul is a Champion of CEAP Chess Mindanao Level. Engr. Jannatul was a former faculty of the Mathematics Department of her alma mater, and currently, she lends her expertise as a full-time reviewer, guiding and mentoring future professionals in the fields of Electronics and Electrical Engineering at Excel First Review and Training Center.

The Calculator Techniques webinar is a virtual academic event organized by IEEE-MUSB in collaboration with Excel Review Center and Canon Philippines. Scheduled from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM via Zoom, the webinar is designed to enhance the problem-solving skills of BS Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering students from Mapúa University – Intramuros. The session will focus on using scientific calculators to efficiently solve Engineering Mathematics and program-specific problems, helping students improve their academic performance and board exam readiness.
The program includes a structured flow beginning with ingress, a doxology, and opening remarks, followed by an introduction to Canon Calculators and our speaker from Excel Review Center. The main highlight is the interactive calculator techniques lecture, where participants will learn shortcuts and problem-solving strategies. To keep the event engaging, raffle draws with exciting prizes will be held throughout. The webinar will conclude with the awarding of a certificate of appreciation, evaluation forms, closing remarks, a group photo opportunity, and outgress.
