This lecture provides a brief overview of economic forecasts in the electric vehicle (EV) industry. It emphasizes the role of electric machine design in enhancing EV performance, efficiency, and sustainability. The focus will be on current technologies, future trends, and the influence of global geopolitical factors.
Key topics include advances in electric machine design automation, the potential benefits of new materials, challenges in sourcing critical components, and the impact of international policy on EV development. The session will conclude with a case study on component verification under extreme cold conditions.
Biography:
Branko Ban was born in Šibenik, Croatia, on March 8, 1991. He completed his Bachelor's degree in 2012 and his Master's degree in 2015 in Electrical Engineering at the University of Zagreb and Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. In 2022, Branko defended his PhD dissertation at the University of Zagreb under the supervision of Professor Stjepan Stipetić.
Since 2015, he has been working in the automotive sector, specializing in electric machine R&D and quality assurance.
In addition, he provides consulting services in the fields of hybrid and electric vehicle traction and electrical safety.
His areas of interest include geometrical parametrization and optimization of electric machines.
Branko Ban is the author or co-author of 4 journal articles, 14 conference papers, and 2 patents.
