IEEE Summer School for Research and Article Writing
The Summer Research School aims to equip students and interested faculties with essential research skills, from formulating research questions to publishing their findings. Over the course of one week, participants will engage in structured learning sessions, hands-on research activities, and mentorship from experienced faculty members and IEEE alumni. The program will help students develop high-quality research papers suitable for submission to impactful conferences and journals.
Event Objectives:
1. Develop Research Skills: Train participants in research methodology, data collection, and experimentation.
2. Enhance Writing Abilities: Guide students in structuring and writing research papers for submission.
3. Encourage Collaborative Research: Facilitate interactions between students and experienced researchers.
4. Promote Conference Submissions: Support students in preparing and submitting research papers to conferences and journals

Asma Said Khamis Al Kharusi is a lecturer at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Oman, with an MSc in Process Engineering and a BSc in Chemical Engineering. With extensive experience in academia and research, her work focuses on process intensification, membrane technology, and environmental sustainability. She has authored several peer-reviewed publications, led grant-funded research projects, and actively contributed to international conferences. Asma is a member of IEEE, AIChE, and SPE, and is especially recognized for her innovative contributions to engineering education, research methodology, and related fields.

Biography:
Hamida A. Al-Maamari received a B.Eng. degree (Hons.) and an M.Sc. in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering from Middle East College (MEC), Muscat, Oman, in 2015 and 2021, respectively. Currently, I am a lecturer in the Department of Engineering at the University of Technology and Applied Science - Suhar (UTAS-Suhar). Additionally, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in the Department of Computing, College of Computing and Informatics (CCI), at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Malaysia. My research interests include Energy, Electronics, artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), the metaverse, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Biography:
Dr. Mohamed Abdul Karim Sadiq is a faculty member at the College of Computing and Information Sciences, University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Sohar. Prior to this, he has worked extensively on industrial research in the fields of natural language processing, information retrieval and case-based reasoning. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He has over two decades of experience spanning software development, research, management and teaching. His areas of interest are machine learning, biometrics and computer vision. Having co-authored papers in many international conferences and refereed journals of repute, he also has filed patents in the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Dr. Mohamed Sadiq is senior member of IEEE and professional member of ACM. He has been on the editorial boards of Springer and other international journals. Moreover, he organized certain international conferences and is on the program committees. He has successfully supervised three doctoral research scholars, apart from several graduate and undergraduate projects.

Biography:
Ahmed Al-Amayreh is a lecturer in the Department of Information Technology at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Sohar. He holds a M.Sc. in Computer Science from the National University of Malaysia and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Yarmouk University of Jordan.
He has more than 25 years of academic experience in IT education. His teaching portfolio includes programming, networking, software engineering, and data systems.
He has developed several advanced tools using Microsoft Excel and Access to automate academic tasks such as final result reporting, academic advising, tracking, and timetable management. These tools are widely used for departmental coordination and decision-making, demonstrating his expertise in data handling, formulas, automation, and visual reporting in Excel.
His research interests include software testing, formal methods, AI programming, and educational technology.

Dr. Omar Laith Hasan Al Hashimi is a Senior Lecturer in Computing and Information Technology at the University of West London. He holds a PhD in Web-Based 3D Interactive Virtual Systems from London South Bank University, where he also earned his MSc and BEng in Internet and Multimedia Engineering.
His research focuses on digital innovations for smart cities, immersive technologies in telemedicine, and AI-driven teaching in higher education. With over 15 years of academic experience in the UK and Oman, Dr. Al Hashimi has contributed extensively to teaching, curriculum design, and postgraduate supervision.
He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an active member of IEEE and IET. He regularly publishes and presents at international conferences and serves as an editor and reviewer for leading journals. Dr. Al Hashimi is committed to advancing digital education and fostering global research collaboration.

Biography:
Maen Qaddoura is a dedicated academic and technology expert with over two decades of experience in computer science and information systems. He currently serves as a Lecturer at the College of Computing and Information Sciences, University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS-Suhar), Oman. His teaching portfolio includes a wide range of subjects such as computer networks, operating systems, and software engineering, with a strong emphasis on new teaching methods and the latest technologies.
Prior to joining UTAS, Maen held academic roles at Multimedia University (MMU), International Islamic University, and FTMS-De Montfort University Campus in Malaysia. His academic strength is complemented by practical industry experience.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a minor in Accounting from Yarmouk University, Jordan, where he ranked fifth in his class. He continued his studies in Malaysia, earning a Master’s degree in Computer Science (Distributed Computing) from University Putra Malaysia, where he was among the top ten students, and an MBA from Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia, graduating at the top of his class in this program.

Mr. Vimbi Viswan is an experienced academic and IT consultant with over 30 years in Computer Science and Information Technology. He currently works at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Suhar, Oman. He holds an MCA from TKM College of Engineering, along with training in ERP (SAP) and UGC development programs. A Senior Member and Student Branch Counsellor of IEEE, he is active in research and has presented topics in Deep Learning. At UTAS, he also supports student internships, and curriculum enhancement. His has engaged in consultancy work in government and healthcare sectors in India. Mr. Viswan is known for blending academic rigor with practical expertise, driving innovation in education and technology across cultural and institutional boundaries.
