She Deserves
She Deserves was a meaningful initiative by the Rotaract Club of Waknaghat in collaboration with Dristhti, IEEE SIGHT JUIT SB, and IEEE Delhi Section SIGHT Group (LGR00123ST) aimed at promoting menstrual hygiene and supporting underprivileged women. In February, the club organized a month-long sanitary pad collection drive, encouraging students and faculty to contribute towards this essential cause. On Women’s Day, March 8th, 2025 the collected sanitary pads were donated to women in need in Shimla, ensuring access to basic menstrual health necessities. By addressing an often-overlooked issue, She Deserves empowered women with dignity and health, reinforcing Rotaract’s commitment to social impact and community well-being.
She Deserves – Phase 2 was a continued to promote menstrual hygiene and support underprivileged girls. Building on the success of the first phase, this project focused on direct impact and outreach. The Rotary Club of Shimla generously provided 50 sanitary napkin packets, which were then donated by our club to the Government Senior Secondary School in Domehar, reaching girls from classes 11 and 12 on April 12, 2025. The initiative aimed to not only provide essential menstrual products but also spread awareness about hygiene and health, breaking taboos around menstruation.
