The metaverse and digital twin are two emerging, interconnected technologies shaping the future of virtual interaction and simulation. As both technologies mature, the digital twin becomes the "engine", and the metaverse becomes the "interface", revolutionizing how we visualize and interact with the physical world in digital form. Application scenarios and case studies including: Real-World Application Example: Industrial metaverses using digital twins. Healthcare: Digital twins of organs for surgery planning in a metaverse environment. Construction/Architecture: Walkthroughs of digital buildings before they are built.
Biography:
Dr. Rajesh Ingle is a CEO, distinguished researcher and former Vice-Chancellor. With more than 36 years of experience in research, industry and academia Dr. Rajesh Ingle is well regarded and respected in his field. Prior to joining SSPU, Dr. Rajesh Ingle served as Dean Academics, HoD (CSE) and Professor in Computer Science and Engineering, at international institute of information technology, Naya Raipur (IIIT-NR). Dr. Ingle’s academic credentials include a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from institutes affiliated to the University of Pune and subsequently a Doctorate from CSE, IIT Bombay. Prior to joining IIIT-NR, he was a Professor in Computer Science and Engineering at PICT, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, India and Adjunct Professor at Government College of Engineering Pune. He has also served as SENATE Member of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Dean (2nd Shift), Head, Department of Computer Engineering and Head, EDC & Business Incubation Centre. In recognition of his outstanding dedication, Dr. Ingle was honored with the 2014 IEEE Outstanding Branch Counsellor Award from IEEE, USA, and the 2019 IEEE Region 10 Outstanding Volunteer Award for his exceptional contributions and services to IEEE Pune Section and IEEE Region 10.
