Introduction to road lighting and traffic signals design

This event aims to provide an introduction to the electrical engineering design elements applicable to road lighting and traffic signals design. It provides a summary of the application Australian and industry standards specific to the electrical engineering design for both road lighting and traffic signals.  It discusses the design process and key design decisions as well as highlights the calculations required to ensure the design complies with the applicable standards and requirements. For road lighting it will provide a summary of the lighting design for V category and P category roads and spaces, the calculation methods applicable under AS/NZS 1158 series and the supply calculations required for the electrical design. For traffic signals it will provide a summary of the electrical information nominated on the traffic signals plans, overview of controller wiring and supply calculations required for electrical design compliance.
