Vigyaan'25
On July 3rd and 4th, 2025, as part of the IEEE Women in Engineering Day celebrations, the NIE IEEE Student Branch - Women in Engineering conducted Vigyaan ’25 at Kanakgiri Government School. Sponsored by the Mysore Amity Ladies Club 108, the event aimed to spark curiosity and nurture scientific temperament among young learners through an immersive and interactive outreach program.
Vigyaan ’25 was carefully designed to make STEM education both accessible and exciting for school students. Day 1 featured creative hands-on sessions, where students engaged in craft-based activities woven with basic STEM principles. This gentle and enjoyable introduction helped ease the children into the world of science through play and imagination.
Day 2 shifted focus towards emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence. Students explored AI through engaging prompts, designed their own superheroes, and visualized folk tales in unique Indian art styles - combining cultural expression with technological curiosity. The sessions also included valuable guidance on scholarships, future careers, and how science and technology can empower them to dream beyond boundaries.
Vigyaan ’25 left a lasting impact on the young minds of Kanakgiri Government School, igniting enthusiasm for science, technology, and creative thinking. The two-day experience fostered imagination, self-expression, and early awareness about future academic and career opportunities in STEM.
By blending playful learning with purposeful exposure to AI and art, the initiative created a joyful and aspirational atmosphere. The NIE IEEE Student Branch - Women in Engineering reaffirmed its commitment to bridging educational gaps and empowering the next generation through inclusive and meaningful outreach.
