SEM YP Member Speaker Series July Session A - Voice Technologies and AI: A Bridge Between Humans and Machines
The Southeast Michigan Young Professionals Affinity Group is starting a new member speaker series meant to highlight the projects, research, or interests of our members! Our first session will be presented by member Harshal Shah in July on the topic of Voice Technologies and AI: A Bridge Between Humans and Machines.
Voice technologies are evolving from simple command interfaces into sophisticated, AI-powered tools that enable deeper interaction between humans and machines. This talk explores the journey of voice processing, from traditional systems to modern AI-enhanced applications that understand emotion, accents, and intent. The speaker will highlight real-world use cases in accessibility, healthcare, and embedded devices while also discussing challenges such as privacy, dataset bias, and inclusive design. The session aims to provide young professionals with insights into the current landscape and future direction of voice technologies and their intersection with artificial intelligence. Whether you're an engineer, researcher, or product thinker, this session will offer practical takeaways and forward-looking perspectives on building more human-centric voice solutions.
We hope you can join us! If you are interested in presenting to the SEM YP audience as well, be sure to submit a proposal here.
