Participation of IEEE Student Branch - Shinas Students in a Five-Day Protection System & Relay Training Course by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO)
A group of students from the IEEE Student Branch - Shinas successfully participated in an intensive five-day Protection System & Relay Training Course conducted by a specialized technical team from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO). The training was designed to equip students with in-depth knowledge and practical skills related to power system protection, focusing on relay logic, fault analysis, system coordination, and modern protection techniques used in industrial power networks.
Throughout the course, students engaged in theoretical sessions complemented by hands-on demonstrations and case studies simulating real-world scenarios. The PDO team shared valuable insights into industry standards, operational safety, and best practices in protection engineering, giving students a clear understanding of how electrical protection systems safeguard critical infrastructure in the energy sector.
