IEEE ComSoc DAY - UIDE : vTools Events

On Tuesday, June 11, 2025, the IEEE DAY UIDE event will take place at the Galo Plaza Auditorium of Universidad Internacional del Ecuador (UIDE), with the goal of promoting the establishment of new IEEE student branches at the university.

Dr. Román Lara, Chair of IEEE ComSoc Ecuador, will present the main initiatives and benefits offered by the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc), including the Distinguished Lecturer Program (DL), the Sister Chapter Program (SCP) with ComSoc Guadalajara, the Member Elevation process to Senior Member, the WICE (Women in Communications Engineering) program, and available funding opportunities for technical and student-led projects.

The event is aimed at students, faculty, and university leaders interested in enhancing their technical and professional growth through a global network of innovation, leadership, and collaboration.

This initiative is expected to inspire the creation of a new IEEE student branch at UIDE, along with a future ComSoc chapter, strengthening the academic and technological ecosystem in Ecuador.
