STEM in early childhood and primary education
The Australian Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) Version 2.0 highlights the critical need for early childhood teachers to receive additional training in effectively integrating digital technologies into their teaching practices. While the framework emphasizes the importance of technology, it is essential to remember that subjects like science, engineering, and mathematics hold equal significance in shaping young minds. As STEM continues to be integrated into our daily lives, it is imperative that our educational systems evolve. We must empower both current and future STEM educators with the essential knowledge, innovative tools, and practical skills needed to inspire and prepare younger generations for the challenges of tomorrow. This year, we are hosting an online free event in collaboration with the Education Society Chapter - IEEE VICTORIAN SECTION and Swinburne University, specifically designed for early childhood and primary educators. The event will focus on how STEM educational activities can be integrated into teaching practices and will provide pre-service teachers with valuable insights into the contemporary educational landscape. Join us for this important session aimed at equipping our future STEM leaders with the resources they need to thrive!
