Igniting Innovation: Inauguration of the IEEE PELS Student Chapter Empowering Future Engineers at TKRCET | 4th July 2025

The inauguration of the IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) Student Chapter at TKR College of Engineering and Technology on 4th July 2025 was a proud and transformative milestone that celebrated student leadership, academic excellence, and global technical vision. Organized by the IEEE Student Branch in association with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, the ceremony began with a warm welcome, the dignified lighting of the ceremonial lamp, and a melodious prayer song. The launch of the PELS chapter was officially marked with the unveiling of the chapter’s poster, followed by a heartfelt oath-taking ceremony by the newly elected office bearers — Ms. Mariya Mahve Syeda (Chair), Ms. Bhavana Gorintla (Vice Chair), Ms. Kaveti Meghana (Secretary), Ms. Sanjana Reddy Samreddy (Treasurer), and Mr. Niteesh Mandaloju (Webmaster) — who pledged to uphold IEEE’s values and lead with integrity, innovation, and purpose. The event was graced by two distinguished chief guests: Dr. G. Siva Kumar, Chair of the IEEE PES/IAS/PELS Joint Chapter, Hyderabad Section and Associate Professor at NIT Warangal, who delivered a powerful keynote on the transformative potential of power electronics and the role of IEEE in shaping global engineers; and Mr. Uma Desu, CEO of IntelliIndia, India’s first Certified Intelligence Practitioner, MIT-certified GenAI trainer, and author, whose inspiring address on generative AI and future technologies empowered students to embrace innovation with vision and responsibility. The Principal, Dr. D. V. Ravishankar, extended his wholehearted support and congratulated the organizing team. Both chief guests were felicitated for their valuable presence and guidance. The event concluded with a gracious vote of thanks by Mrs. K. Naga Maha Lakshmi, IEEE Student Branch Counselor, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the management, advisors, and volunteers — especially Mr. Aderla Anjaiah, PELS Chapter Advisor — for his dedication in making the event a grand success. The ceremony ended with the National Anthem and a group photo, capturing a moment of pride and promise. The inauguration of the IEEE PELS Student Chapter signifies a bold step forward in nurturing a new generation of innovators, researchers, and leaders in power electronics and beyond.
