INFORMATYKA 5.0 – Quantum Computing: A Simple Introduction and Its Promising Future Event Goal
The fifth edition of the INFORMATYKA series, titled “Quantum Computing: A Simple Introduction and Its Promising Future,” was successfully conducted on 25th June 2025 through the Google Meet platform. The session was organized by the IEEE Computer Society Chapter of MBITS in collaboration with IEEE Young Professionals Kerala Section. It featured Ms. Sumitha Valsalam, a Ph.D. Research Scholar at Digital University Kerala, who specializes in quantum computing algorithms.
The main aim of the session was to introduce the fundamentals of quantum computing to a wide audience, including students and technology enthusiasts. Ms. Sumitha delivered an engaging and informative talk that explained complex quantum principles such as qubits, superposition, and entanglement into understandable concepts. Her explanations made it easier for attendees, regardless of prior knowledge, to grasp the significance and future potential of quantum technologies.
The presentation also explored the practical implications of quantum computing and how it could revolutionize industries such as cryptography, optimization, and data processing. Ms. Sumitha highlighted the current state of research and development in the field, inspiring many participants to further explore this emerging area.
The session concluded with a lively and interactive Q&A segment, where participants actively engaged with the speaker to clarify doubts and discuss real-world applications. The strong turnout and active involvement of 84 participants, including 41 IEEE members, reflected the growing curiosity and enthusiasm surrounding quantum computing.
