The Southeast Michigan Young Professionals Affinity Group is hosting a member speaker series meant to highlight the projects, research, or interests of our members! Our second session will be presented by member Santosh Kumar in July on the topic of Voice, Vision, and Generative AI: Empowering the Next Generation of Human-Machine Interfaces.

As voice technologies rapidly evolve through the power of Generative AI, we're witnessing a paradigm shift in how humans interact with machines. This presentation explores how voice, multimodal intelligence, and foundation models are transforming the future of human-machine interfaces across industries—from healthcare and accessibility to smart devices and enterprise automation. We’ll delve into core technologies including speech recognition, natural language understanding, and transformer-based large language models, highlighting how they work together to enable intuitive, real-time conversations. Drawing from real-world use cases and live demonstrations, attendees will gain insights into designing inclusive, privacy-aware, and scalable voice AI systems.
