The IEEE Student Branch Chapter Computer Society at NIET is proud to announce its official inauguration ceremony. This marks the beginning of a journey toward innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence for students of NIET.


With a steadfast commitment to bridging the gap between theoretical education and practical technological exposure, NIET proudly inaugurated the IEEE Student Branch Chapter (Computer Society) under the aegis of the emerging branches of Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The chapter is formed in alignment with IEEE’s global mission to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity.

This student-led initiative will serve as a platform to cultivate leadership, research, and innovation among aspiring engineers. The chapter aims to nurture student involvement in global technical communities and provide them access to international resources, mentorship, and industry exposure.

The event was graced by the presence and support of our respected Dr Vinod Kapse (Director NIET) , Director (Academics) Dr Anil Ahlawat , Dr Neema Agrawal (Additional Managing Director) whose continuous encouragement strengthens our alumni connections.

The Event marked the formal launch of IEEE Student Branch Chapter (Computer Society) ,with adresses by the dignitaries and an overview of upcoming technical and professional activities . Student and faculty were in attendance to witness the launch of a platform aimed at fostering innovation , technical excellence , and professional growth.

Prof. Anil Ahlawat, Dean of Academics at NIET, delivered an insightful keynote address emphasizing the importance of academic excellence, continuous learning, and the role of professional communities like IEEE in shaping future-ready engineers. He encouraged students to actively engage in research, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration, highlighting how platforms like IEEE provide valuable exposure beyond the classroom. His words inspired students to take initiative and make the most of every opportunity to grow both technically and professionally.

Director (Academics) & Senior Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, NIET, Greater Noida

With over 26 years of experience in leading engineering institutions, Dr. Ahlawat is a veteran academician in Computer Science & Engineering . He holds degrees from Kurukshetra University, GGSIPU New Delhi, and IIT Roorkee NIET Greater Noida.

Renowned for academic leadership, he steers strategic initiatives in accreditation (NBA, NAAC), institutional rankings (NIRF, QS I‑Gauge), and policy implementation . A mentor to 15 Ph.D. scholars, Dr. Ahlawat has supervised numerous UG/PG projects, authored 100+ research publications, and published 4 books .

His research pursuits lie in Machine Learning and Algorithm Design, and he participates in the IIT Delhi Virtual Labs PRSG initiative under MHRD NIET Greater Noida.

Dr. Ahlawat is widely recognized on LinkedIn as a thought leader in education, defining teaching as empowering students with tools rather than answers:

“A good teacher isn’t someone who gives the answers… but gives tools to help other people succeed.” 

In his current role at NIET, he orchestrates academic rigor, quality assurance, and student-centric programs, contributing to the institute’s standing as an autonomous, globally benchmarking university

Prof. Arun Kumar Tripathi, Dean of Emerging Technologies at NIET, delivered an enlightening address highlighting the transformative role of cutting-edge technologies in shaping the future of engineering and innovation. He emphasized the importance of staying updated with advancements such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and IoT, encouraging students to explore beyond traditional boundaries. Prof. Tripathi also spoke about the institute’s initiatives in fostering a tech-driven ecosystem and urged students to actively engage with platforms like IEEE to build skills relevant to the rapidly evolving global tech landscape.

Dean of Emerging Technologies & Professor, NIET Greater Noida
Prof. Arun Kumar Tripathi is a distinguished academic with a Ph.D. in Mobile IPv6 from NIT Kurukshetra, an M.Tech in Wireless Sensor Networks from UPTU, and a B.Sc. in Electronics . He currently serves as a Professor of Computer Science & Dean of Emerging Technologies at NIET, Greater Noida.

With over two decades of experience in wireless communications and network security, Dr. Tripathi has authored more than 60 research publications, contributing significantly to areas like mobile IPv6 mobility, VANETs, IoT, and cyber‑security protocols . His research interests span network architecture, mobile computing, and energy‑efficient communication frameworks.

He is widely recognized as a mentor and leader in emerging tech education, shaping NIET’s technology‑driven ecosystem and integrating global innovations into the academic curriculum. His contributions reflect a commitment to blending technical knowledge with strategic foresight, inspiring future engineers to explore the frontiers of emerging technologies.

Mr.Vinod Kapse of Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology

Mr. Vinod Kapse, Director of NIET, delivered a motivating address focused on the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and holistic student development. He emphasized the significance of technical communities like IEEE in nurturing leadership, creativity, and a global outlook among students. Mr. Kapse highlighted the college’s vision to stay aligned with industry trends, foster interdisciplinary learning, and support initiatives that prepare students for real-world challenges. His words inspired attendees to take ownership of their growth and actively contribute to a future-ready academic environment.

Biography:

Director, Noida Institute of Engineering & Technology (NIET), Greater Noida

Dr. Kapse is a seasoned academic leader with over 22 years of experience spanning engineering education and administration.  Since 2019, he has served as Director of the Electronics & Communication Engineering department at NIET, steering the institution’s strategic growth and quality assurance initiatives. 

His expertise includes curriculum development, accreditation oversight (including NAAC and NBA), and institutional ranking processes. Dr. Kapse has overseen several key projects in research and development, contributing to NIET’s performance benchmarking in national frameworks.

With multiple research publications to his name, Dr. Kapse’s scholarly work has earned citations across electronic and communication engineering disciplines.  His leadership philosophy focuses on inspiring students to focus on innovation, interdisciplinary growth, and ethical excellence.
