Bio of the speaker:
Prof. Florentina Nicolau is an Associate Professor in Nonlinear Control Theory at ENSEA ("École nationale supérieure de l'électronique et de ses applications") Cergy, France, and Deputy Director of the Quartz Laboratory. She obtained her PhD in Nonlinear Control Theory from INSA Rouen, France in 2014 and her Habilitation in 2025 from CY Cergy Paris University, focusing on structural properties of nonlinear control systems and differential flatness. Her research interests include flatness-based control, feedback linearization, systems classification, fault detection, and time-delay systems, with applications in electrical systems and renewable energy. She has held a CNRS secondment at L2S, CentraleSupélec, and has been an invited researcher in India, at IIT Bombay, and China, at Nanjing University. She has co-authored over 15 journal articles and 30 international conference papers, and actively contributes to French and international research projects in nonlinear control.
In this talk, Prof. Nicolau will present methods for designing flat inputs -- a powerful concept in control theory with practical applications in secure communication systems. The work is based on her collaborative research with Jean-Pierre Barbot and Witold Respondek. Kindly find the attached abstract for the details.
We warmly invite you to attend and engage in this exciting session. Please feel free to share this announcement with colleagues and peers who may be interested.
