Transitive Energy Systems
As the world moves towards decentralized and renewable energy, Transactive Energy Systems (TES) are becoming the backbone of smart grids and microgrids. TES leverages real-time data, automation, and market mechanisms to enable peer-to-peer energy trading, dynamic pricing, and optimized grid operations.
Whether it's enabling islanded microgrids in remote communities, real-time load balancing in smart cities, or integrating rooftop solar with neighborhood grids, TES is the future of energy interaction.
Biography:
Dr. Swathi Battula, currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. She completed my PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Iowa State University in 2021, where she worked on transactive energy system design for integrated transmission and distribution systems. She obtained my Master's degree in Energy Systems Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2015 and her Bachelor's in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Warangal. In the intermediate years between her academic pursuits, she worked at The Tata Power Company as a Lead Engineer during 2011-2013 and as a Research Engineer at the National University of Singapore during 2015-2016.
