"In 1988, I gave a talk previewing MATLAB graphics entitled "Pictures of Matrices". At the time, a mathematician friend
of mine asked.
Why would anyone want pictures of matrices?
My response is the graphics demonstrations that we have made over the years. This talk describes a few examples."
Biography:
Cleve Moler, chief mathematician, chairman, and cofounder of MathWorks. Moler was a professor of math and computer science for almost 20 years at the University of Michigan, Stanford University, and the University of New Mexico. He wrote the first version of MATLAB and likes to call himself “The World’s First MATLAB Programmer”.
