MINDORA
“MINDORA – Whispering Calmness into Busy Minds” is a mindful event organized by the IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of the University of Peradeniya in celebration of International WIE Day 2025. The event was held on 9th July 2025, focusing on Academic Stress Releasing and Time Management.
The session was conducted by Dr. Jayalath Edirisinghe, a Senior lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Peradeniya. The main objective of the session was to equip undergraduate students with practical strategies to effectively manage their time and cope with academic stress, which is a common challenge in university life. The session provided valuable insights into setting priorities, planning study schedules, and maintaining a healthy academic-life balance. By applying these techniques, students can enhance their productivity, reduce anxiety, and improve overall academic performance.
In the second half of the event, a special awareness session was conducted by Ms. Irangika Abeysundara, Psychological Counselor at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya. This session focused on mental health, stress-coping mechanisms, and the support systems available within the university. This holistic approach ensured that students left the session not only informed but also encouraged to seek help when needed.
