IEEE PES SBC MITS meet up with Office Bearers
As part of the National Power Conference hosted at Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science (MITS), an insightful IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) Awareness and Interaction Session was held on 8th July 2025 at Albert Einstein Hall. The session commenced with a formal introduction of the distinguished office bearers of the IEEE PES Kerala Chapter by Mr. John Jacob (IEEE PES SBC Chapter Advisor):

The session was attended by 37 participants, including students from the EEE department, IEEE PES Execom members, Mr. Arjun S Nair (IEEE Student Branch Chairperson, MITS), and Dr. Arun Joy (Branch Counselor, MITS).
The speakers elaborated on the broad spectrum of opportunities provided by IEEE PES to students, such as project funding, travel reimbursements for conferences, and technical guidance for research and innovation. They emphasized the importance of students being aware of and actively utilizing these benefits. This message served as an eye-opener for many attendees, inspiring them to engage more deeply with IEEE PES initiatives.
The interaction also spotlighted the ongoing activities under the IEEE Student Branch at MITS. One key highlight was the student-driven E-Bike Project, which drew particular interest from the speakers. The initiative was commended as a forward-looking effort aligned with IEEE PES's mission, and the feedback provided during the session served as a significant source of motivation for the student team involved.
Though brief, the session was highly interactive and informative. It concluded with a group photo, capturing the moment and marking the session as a meaningful and memorable engagement for the IEEE PES community at MITS.
