5th Annual Drive Thru Backpack Giveaway
***ATTENTION: RICE UNIVERSITY IEEE STUDENT CHAPTER***
Let's prepare future OWLS for life "beyond the hedges" with Los Angeles Laker and native Houstonian Jarred Vanderbilt.
The Jarred Vanderbilt Foundation is donating 600 backpacks filled with school supplies to equip high school students for the Fall semester.
The IEEE Houston Section is sponsoring the school supplies inside those backpacks. We’re also including the latest copy of IEEE Spectrum, the world’s leading engineering magazine, to inspire future STEM leaders.
This is a drive-thru event being held at Marian Park Community Center: 11101 S Gessner Rd, Houston, TX 77071
We need 10 OWLS to help:
- Distribute backpacks
- Distribute lunches
- Greet families and students
- Work the sno cone machine
If you’re ready to represent Rice, IEEE and have a fun time volunteering, this event is for you. Stay for as little or as long as you like.
Register using this IEEE vTools registration link in this email AND the google doc link here:
