WIE Connect: Yellow to girls
This is an integration activity between the campuses of the Federal University of Paraíba, considering that the Castelo Branco and Mangabeira campuses are located in different regions of the city of João Pessoa. This geographical separation has contributed to a certain distance between student bodies, especially among women. To illustrate this scenario, at the Computer Science Center (Mangabeira Campus), only 16% of students are women (data provided by SIGA UFPB), we are a small community within the exact sciences. Thus, we propose an afternoon of decompression, aligned with the theme after Yellow September – mental health awareness month. The activity will feature moments of care, well-being, and integration, including: yoga class, painting workshop, coffee break, and bracelet workshop. Our goal is to provide a safe and welcoming space where women can disconnect from academic pressures, take care of their emotional health, and strengthen bonds, promoting exchange between students from the Castelo Branco and Mangabeira campuses.
