A team of 6 students from Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management(SMVITM), Bantakal conducted workshop on IOT Applications at Atal Tinkering Lab of Government Composite High School, Volakadu, Udupi on July 12, 2025 under SIGHT Initiative of IEEE Mangalore Subsection and ATL mentoring program in association with IEEE Student Branch of SMVITM.

The workshop was a successful initiative aimed at fostering innovation, creativity, and scientific temperament among students. The session focused on Arduino programming and hands-on project building. The mentors provided valuable insights into Arduino configuration, including the integration of various components such as LEDs, buzzers, and sensors, followed by live demonstrations of project model development. The session began with an engaging introduction to the objectives of the Atal Tinkering Lab and the importance of innovation in solving real-world problems. In addition to physical prototyping, students were also introduced to Tinkercad, an online simulation tool, which allowed them to design and test circuits virtually before building them. This helped in better understanding of circuit design and debugging techniques.

Students of SMVITM namely Adithya R Das, Athula A Bhat, Balarama Bharadwaja Kana, Alaka A Shetty, Rakhi and Sharanya Thantry were the volunteers for the event. Mr. Raghavendra I. Hegde, Sr. Asst. Professor(s), Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering, SMVITM was the event coordinator. The Headmaster, along with the teaching and non-teaching staff of the Government Composite High School, extended their full support, ensuring the smooth conduct of the workshop.
