Science Museum Oklahoma Tour
Amanda Harmer, Curator of Engagement at Science Museum Oklahoma in OKC's Adventure District, will provide a guided narrated tour of items of interest in their collection. Highlights include a display of early computing technology (remember the "luggable" computer?), the Oklahoma Aviation and Space Hall of Fame (scientists, engineers, and pilots who shaped aviation and space exploration), the Navy Gallery (spotlights naval history and Oklahoma’s deep ties through the service of SMO founder John E. Kirkpatrick), and SmART Space (rotating galleries of exhibitions that explore the “a” in “STEAM”, currently on display is an exhibition of anamorphic art).
We will begin our tour at 11 AM and end at 12 Noon, at which time the group has a room reserved for lunch (menu link below). Thanks to a grant from IEEE Region 5, both the tour and lunch are at no cost for attendees!
