A IEEE Student Branch of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management(SMVITM), Bantakal in association with Bangalore section conducted outreach activity called Pravartana-2025, a one day workshop on IOT Applications at Atal Tinkering Lab of Karnataka Public School, Hiriadka on July 26, 2025 under SIGHT Initiative of IEEE Mangalore Subsection.

The session was focused on ‘IoT Applications’ including the basics of electronics and sensor-based systems. Students were introduced to Arduino programming, LED control, and simple automation using sensors. Demonstrations were conducted using TinkerCAD simulators, allowing participants to visualize and test real-time circuit designs. Basic coding logic, block programming, and creative thinking exercises were part of the agenda, making it accessible and fun for students from rural backgrounds.

The program received enthusiastic participation from the students and appreciation from the school faculty. The efforts of SMVITM students in explaining complex technological concepts in a simplified and bilingual manner helped bridge the gap between technology and school-level education.

Annapurna Shenoy, Poornitha, Divyanth, Sharanya,  Chandan and Kartik were the session volunteers from SMVITM. Ms. Poonima, Senior Teacher from the school was the coordinator for ATL lab was also present during the session. The Head Master Mr. Prakash Prabhu gave a prelude to the event and also thanked the SMVITM, Management for the continued support by sending students volunteers for organizing this useful session for the benefit of their students. From SMVITM Mr. Deepak Rao M, Assistant Professor (Sr), Department of CSE coordinated the event.
