- Review the 27th Mar Warangal Colloquium at NIT. Need to finalize speakers & travel plans.
- Take homes from the SEC meeting. Budgetary constraints.
- CS presentation of Budgetary proposals & 2010 plans.
- DL/Lecture for April 2010 - proposals.
- Workshop updates for Bioinformatics & Semantic Technologies.
- Plans for expansion of our team to include 3 new members with definitely & tangible action plans.

Outcomes

# 27th March - IEEE CS Computing Colloquium at NIT Warangal

* Prabodh & Niranjan are confirmed. Niranjan to finalize on a topic after checking with Google folks on their previous visits to NIT.
* Prabodh to speak on a contemporary area of professional development like "Future of Engineering Profession" & IEEE & Computer Society in general.
* Niranjan to source out one person from Google for an additional talk.
* The time lines for the talk would be approximately as follows:
o 7:00 AM: Leave Hyd by Car (takes about 2:30 mins to reach Warangal)
o 10:00 AM - 11:15 AM: Talk 1: Niranjan, Topic: TBD (Technical)
o 11:30 AM - 12:15 PM: Talk 2: Prabodh, Topic: TBD (professional dev)
o 12:15 PM - 12:45 PM: Talk 2a: Prabodh, Topic: Promote IEEE & CS in general.
o 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Lunch Break
o 2:00 PM - 3:15 PM: Talk 3: Google Resource, Topic, TBD (Technical)
o 3:30 PM: Pack up.
o 6:00 PM: Arrive back at Hyd
* We have decided to hire a car (to&fro), to cost approx: 5-6k, train is a difficult option given local transport, etc
* Local logistics+lunch for speakers to be borne by IEEE Branch at NIT, Warangal.
* 1st Level back up: Rajesh from Aditya's team, 2nd Level: Aditya himself.
* Aditya has already alerted NIT Warangal on the program and they are quite enthusiastic.
* Niranjan to collate on all the bio's and prepare a A4 poster and send it to NIT for wide circulation.
* Niranjan and others to promote extensively the cause/case of IEEE CS with the merchandise/posters already made available. Look for a possibility of an IEEE CS Chapter - dole out something interesting if they promise 1 such student chapter.

# Bioinformatics Workshop - Tentatively on 1st, 2nd & 3rd July

* Aditya working with Dr. Amit for the workshop + Symposium.
* Details of all the discussions already shared with the group.
* Budgetary allocations & details to be worked out asap.
* Meeting with IIIT folks scheduled for next week.
* TCS, CCMB & Infosys are keen on this workshop, need to seek their sponsorship.

# Semantic Web Workshop/Symposium - 2nd - 4th Nov 2010

* Aditya working DERI and other organizations for such a workshop.
* More details to follow soon.

# Cloud Computing Workshop

* Niranjan to work with Google to see if this can be 1/2 day workshop hosted in Google
* Target audience are professionals and not students this time.
* May mid appears to be a good time.

# Dr. Von Neumann Lecture Series:

* Ranga to assist in organizing lecture series in JNTU Ananthapur & Pulivendula (?)
* More details to follow up from him.
* Not discussed, but needed: We need to have the final list of speakers asap and publish them (this work has been pending, we currently have 15 registrations, we must get at least 30)
* Not discussed, but needed: Venkat to follow up with known speakers and encourage them to register.
* Not discussed, but needed: Niranjan to publish the poster for the lecture as per the task items.
