Dr. Neale O'Connor is Associate Professor in Forensic Accounting and Sustainability at La Trobe Business School and a sought-after expert on manufacturing and procurement in Asia. With over 20 years of experience in Hong Kong, he has become a leading authority on Chinese firm modernization, operational risk management, and supply chain transformation across the Asia-Pacific region.

Dr. O'Connor's research centers on performance measurement and management control systems within Chinese enterprises, examining both intra-firm and inter-firm relationships. His groundbreaking "China 1000" project represents the largest-ever survey of operational risk issues for foreign buyers and Chinese suppliers.

His recent work includes two major industry reports: "Unchained Global Sourcing" (2023) with PBEC and KPMG, documenting supply capacity shifts throughout Asia, and "Unlocking the Scope 3 Opportunity" (2024), which analyzes sustainability reporting best practices by listed companies across the Asia-Pacific region.
