Mary Carter, MBA, a Commissioned Bank Examiner, will explore: what was behind the initial concept for the creation of cryptocurrency, who is pushing its use, who stands to benefit, how cryptocurrency is currently being used in the marketplace, how blockchain works and is used to create more currency, the problems created because of the method of generating the currency, the future of blockchain, what is a Crypto Reserve and how would it work, and finally, is cryptocurrency a PONZI scheme?
Mary worked for fourteen years in banking, rising to the level of Vice President, and then joined the 10th District Federal Reserve Bank headquartered in Kansas City. She has taught Economics at Oklahoma City University and through the University of Oklahoma Osher Lifelong Learning program (OLLI). Join us as she helps us explore and understand cryptocurrency.
