Nuclear Energy: Revisited – Unexpected Demand from AI and Data Centers
Abstract:
The current unsatiable demand for AI enablement in all of our modern-day digital life, retail, manufacturing, transportation, production, life stye, etc. has caused a massive need for more energy to keep data centers well supplied. In fact, many more brand-new data centers are being built,
continuing to stress the supply pool. Renewables – while desirable, growing and getting cheaper, however cannot meet current baseload and remain in the low digits as far as market share goes. Nuclear energy has made some improvements, e.g. SMR (small modular reactors) are viable and cheaper, quicker to setup as compared to previous generations and have better safety as well. In this talk we will look at all of the data and make the case for revisiting nuclear energy to be a major part of our future energy needs.
