Lightning and Surge Protection by Bill Schlesinger
AS 1768 was updated in December 2021 and is now aligned with the IEC lightning & surge protection standards. These documents detail requirements for the design, installation, maintenance, and testing of lightning protection on common structures, and surge protection for low-voltage electrical and electronic systems within those structures. The update included a number of changes that have had a significant impact on the way in which lightning and surge protection systems are specified and designed here in Australia. This seminar will outline these changes and provide the attendees with the skills to undertake lightning protection risk assessments, write specifications, and complete detailed lightning protection designs. Further details are provided on the next page.
