Springfield Illinois Dallman Power Plant Tour
This event is for a tour of Springfield’s City-owned power plant. Registration is required for this tour.
Central Illinois IEEE members: on Friday morning, September 19, 2025, the IEEE Central Illinois Power and Energy Society chapter will tour the Dallman Power Plant in Springfield, IL. The Dallman Power Plant is owned and operated by City Water, Light and Power (CWLP), the municipal utility of Springfield. The tour site is located in Springfield, IL along Interstate Highway I-55/I-72. Registration is open for all IEEE Members, including IEEE student members and graduate student members.
REGISTRATION and IEEE MEMBERSHIP ARE REQUIRED
To register, you must have an active IEEE membership. IEEE members may bring up to 1 guest (guests membership is not required). All attendees must bring a valid government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license, U.S. passport or passport card, U.S. military ID, or USCIS document. To check your membership status, please visit: ieee.org/profile. There is no fee to attend. Registration closes on September 14th, or when all spaces have been filled.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
All attendees: closed-toe shoes are required, boots are preferable (i.e., no sandals or flip-flops, etc.).
RECOMMENDATIONS
This tour will include a walk around the facility. We recommend bringing comfortable clothes in case some areas are dusty or contain coal dust. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety glasses and hats will be provided. Comfortable work boots, walking shoes or hiking/athletic shoes are also permitted.
