We’re excited to bring you Artemia 1.0, the very first Ideathon + Designathon competition organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Happening on 8th November 2025 from 8.00 AM to 5.00 PM at the university premises, this event will gather around 50 passionate students – both IEEE members and non-members.
Inspired by Artemis, the goddess of safety, Artemia 1.0 is all about creativity, innovation, and empowerment. Students will get the chance to pitch their ideas, build designs, and refine them with the support of mentors and experts, while learning teamwork, leadership, and presentation skills along the way.
This isn’t just a competition – it’s a platform to spark new ideas, connect bright minds, and build something meaningful together. Artemia 1.0 marks the beginning of what we hope will grow into a flagship annual tradition of innovation and empowerment at WIE USJ.
